3D Printing

DeWys Engineering recently acquired a MakerBot Replicator 2X 3D printing machine. We use it for everything from scale models of customer equipment to exact parts to test the final fit and finish of the product. The MakerBot Replicator 2X can print in both Polylactic Acid and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene which allows for a nearly unlimited number of build qualities, colors and designs to be made.


DeWys Engineering 3D Printing Workflow

Step 1

First the full digital design is finished in our 3D design software

Step 2

Then a "Quick and Dirty" rapid prototype is printed on DeWys Engineering's in-house MakerBot Replicator 2X. The CAD design is then adjusted based off of this piece.

Step 3

A final part is then produced on a high end SLA 3D printing machine.

Step 4

Ultimately the final high quality SLA part is submitted to the customer for approval
